What is Natural Fluency and how does it work?
Natural Fluency is a language-learning platform that delivers a method proven over 23 years in an accessible, personalized and unlimited format.
Classes are fully customizable and built around your interests, with corrections as you speak that become your own study material.
After each class you receive a structured lesson: feedback on vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation; reading and listening homework; and a writing exercise corrected on the spot. You then review all of it with flashcards and review games, built from your own conversation classes.
Does the app work for all levels and goals?
Yes. Natural Fluency adapts to your level and specific goals. Whether you're a beginner wanting to learn basic phrases, an intermediate learner seeking confidence in everyday situations, or an advanced speaker needing technical vocabulary for your profession, our personalized method meets your needs.
Do I need prior language knowledge to use the app?
No. With our resources that especially support beginners, you start communicating from day one, even without prior knowledge. We adjust teachers' speaking speed to your level, provide subtitles and translations, plus speaking suggestions for your first sentences. We also offer lists of most commonly used words and guided exercises, specially designed for beginners.
How do I start studying as a beginner?

Start using Flashcards and Crosswords to learn basic vocabulary. We have ready-made lists with the most common words in the language – even before you take your first class.

Your first steps in conversation can be with our Targeted Practice, which offers structured dialogues for everyday situations.

Then venture into free-flowing conversation using beginner resources: teachers who speak slowly and use simple language, subtitles and translations for easier comprehension, and speaking suggestions for your first sentences. Start with a few minutes and progress naturally with real-time corrections.

Which languages can I study?
Subscribers have unlimited access to all 13 languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Czech, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Hindi, Korean and Mandarin Chinese. More are on the way.
Does the method really work?
Yes. The Natural Method has 23 years behind it and thousands of fluent students. It rests on communication and total personalization: you start speaking from day one, always about topics that matter to you. You also get corrections that stop mistakes becoming habits, homework for listening, reading and writing, and flashcards and review games built from your own classes.
Can I practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the app?
Yes, Natural Fluency develops all four skills in a synergistic approach: practice speaking and oral comprehension with your teacher; listening with authentic content like videos; reading with materials personalized to your level; and writing with exercises and instant corrections.
What's the difference between Natural Fluency and other apps?
Many apps are engaging but fall short on what matters: getting you to speak. Our foundation is a method that has worked for 23 years. Research is clear on the power of authentic conversation, and on studying from your own interests rather than rigid content or random sentences. The second difference is personalization: whatever your level or your goal, the platform adapts — ask for the grammar point you are curious about, discuss quantum computing, or rehearse a situation you actually have coming up.
How do I take my first free class?
Simply create an account to access your free class and enjoy our entire learning ecosystem, including games and flashcards!
What do I get with the free class?
You create your account, choose your language and your teacher, and have a conversation class with corrections as you speak. Afterwards you get your lesson, with feedback and personalized reading, writing and listening suggestions, plus access to the flashcards and review games.
Features
How do conversation classes work?
You can change almost everything, at any time. Choose the teacher's country of origin, accent and mood, set the level of difficulty and the speaking speed, and add conversation topics if you want them. There are two formats — free conversation or Targeted Practice — both with corrections as you speak. Subtitles, translations and speaking suggestions are there while you need them, alongside Vocab Mastery and Add to Vocab/Pronunciation.
How do real-time corrections work?
During class, you'll receive high-quality corrections on vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, which will be automatically saved for your lesson and for review with flashcards and games. During classes, remember to delete any feedback you consider unnecessary in order to optimize your study material.
How do I use the translation and subtitle tools?
Natural Fluency has support tools specially designed for beginners. You can toggle subtitles on and off to help you understand teacher speech, use translations when needed, and receive suggestions for formulating your first sentences. As your level advances, we recommend you gradually reduce the use of these tools to develop authentic fluency.
How does Vocab Mastery work?
Vocab Mastery tracks your progress with each word included when the feature is on, registering each time you use it correctly in context. When activated, your teacher also incorporates these words into conversation to encourage practice. As you use them successfully, your learning level is automatically updated until the word is considered completely mastered.
How does Add to Vocab/Pronunciation work?
During classes, besides teacher feedback being automatically registered in your study list, you can save your own words, further customizing your content. These words can be practiced later with flashcards and games.
How does Targeted Practice work?
Targeted Practice offers immersive, structured exercises focused on specific situations, like "At the restaurant" or "Job interview." Each practice has definite goals, such as "Order drinks, meals, and ask for the check," making it ideal for beginners or focused training at any level.
How do the Class Timer and Streak work?
The Timer records your class time — daily, weekly and in total — so you can see how much you are actually practising. The Streak counts your consecutive days of study.
What's included in the Lesson I receive after class?
After each class, you receive a custom lesson that includes a summary of your conversation, detailed corrections of vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, plus instantly corrected writing exercises. You also get suggestions for complementary authentic content like articles and videos. All this material remains available, including in the games and flashcards section, for you to review whenever you want.
How do Games and Flashcards work?
You review your own content on the platform with six review games. Flashcards use spaced repetition; Crosswords train vocabulary; Natural Spelling sharpens spelling and listening; Grammar Rush tests your grammar; Racing Letters rebuilds your corrected writing; Say It Right works on pronunciation. All six use content from your own classes.
How does Level Assessment work?
The platform automatically assesses your level when you take a class, without requiring anything extra from you. This means that the more classes you take, the more accurate the result will be, and as you advance, your progress is constantly updated, ensuring content and corrections always align with your development.
How do I take classes with a human teacher?
Natural Fluency students can book live classes with Natural Language Institute teachers, in any language. Booking is done with our office: send a message on WhatsApp or write to contact@natural.education, and we will arrange the schedule with you. Booking inside the app is not available yet.
Technical questions
On which devices can I use the app?
Natural Fluency is available on multiple platforms for your convenience. You can access it on iPhone and iPad (iOS), other smartphones and tablets (Android), or directly through your web browser (we strongly recommend Chrome). Just use the same login on any device and your progress will automatically sync.
Does the app work offline?
No, currently the app requires an internet connection to provide real-time conversations, instant corrections, and personalized content. Make sure you have a stable connection for the best experience.
How do I change the interface language?
[Browser] Access Menu (your name) > Account > Account Information > Interface Language > Select desired language > Save.
[App] Access Profile > Interface > Select desired language > Save.
Note: interface language also defines translation language – especially important for beginners.
Plans and subscriptions
How does the subscription work and how do I subscribe?
Natural Fluency gives you unlimited access to conversation classes and the complete study platform, in 13 languages, through an Individual or a Family subscription. For larger groups, contact our team and we will put together a custom plan. To subscribe, create your account and choose your plan.
How does the family plan work?
The Family Plan allows up to 5 users from the same household or immediate family. After creating the first account, contact our support to set up additional accounts.
How do I pay?
You can pay by card when you subscribe on the web, or through your App Store or Google Play account if you subscribe inside the iOS or Android app. All prices are in US dollars, monthly plans renew every month, and you can cancel at any time.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time by sending us a message on WhatsApp or an e-mail (contact@natural.education). Our team will process your cancellation request within 24 hours. We aim to make this process as simple as possible, so feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We value your feedback and would like to know the reason for cancellation to improve our service.
