On Saturday, 19 September, Poliglotar 2026 brought together in Foz do Iguaçu people who study languages for the pleasure of it. In our workshop, each person answered three questions on their phone: which languages they study or want to start, how many minutes a day they intend to give each one, and whether they want to study with other people. Two minutes later the screen in the room showed the groups: who studies Spanish with whom, who studies Japanese with whom, and so on.
That is how the Poliglotar community inside Natural Fluency was born. Today it has challenges in eight languages: Spanish, Italian, English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese and Portuguese for foreigners. Each language has two challenges, and they run for a year: one counts class time, with a target worked out from what the group itself promised, and one counts levels, showing how many micro-levels each person can climb in twelve months. Anyone who joins a challenge sees their own progress next to the group's. Motivation is not willpower; it is who is watching.

And the languages we do not have yet?
At the workshop four people asked for Catalan, and Greek, Hindi, Polish, Swahili and Guarani came up as well. The community's Suggestions screen exists for exactly this: any member proposes a language, the others back it, and the ideas that gather support go on the schedule with a date. Catalan is one person away from getting there.
